MHS MARCH LECTURE SERIES FOCUS ON WOMEN DOING TIME IN PRISON
“Women Doing Time at Deer Lodge” is the Wednesday (March 9) noon brown bag March Lecture Series program at the Montana Historical Society.
MHS Interpretive Historian Ellen Baumler will present the talk on the pre 1930s history of sentencing and incarceration of women who often became victims, neglected and forgotten in prisons built for men.
Baumler is the author or “Dark Spaces: Montana’s Historic Penitentiary at Deer Lodge,” and will be available to sign copies of the book available at the MHS Museum Store after the talk.
