The Energy and Telecommunications Interim Committee (ETIC) of the Montana Legislature is seeking public comment through June 17 on  draft legislation updating and revising Montana's 9-1-1 laws.

The Energy and Telecommunications Interim Committee (ETIC) will check out Hungry Horse Dam, visit a biomass co-generation facility in Columbia Falls, and learn more about a community solar project while in the Flathead for a meeting May 12-13.

A legislative committee will continue work on two mental health studies and review six preliminary bill drafts for its study of guardianship and Alzheimer's disease when it meets in Helena on May 9.

Bears, bison, wolves and Sage-grouse are but a few of the topics at the May meeting of the Environmental Quality Council (EQC).

The State Administration and Veterans' Affairs Interim Committee has a full agenda for its upcoming meeting on April 19. The meeting will begin at 8:30 a.m. in Room 102 of the Capitol.

A legislative interim committee will look on April 14 at the costs and regulations that affect about one-fifth of Montana's workforce, those people who must have state licenses for their profession. The Economic Affairs Committee also will hear about a proposal for Montana State Fund to buy from the City of Helena a parking garage next to the State Fund building. The meeting starts at 8:30 a.m. in Room 137 of the Capitol. The public is welcome to attend.

A four-member subcommittee of the Legislative Audit Committee will begin the process of appointing a new state legislative auditor, in accordance with state law.  The current auditor, Tori Hunthausen, has announced her plans to retire at the end of her appointment term, June 30, 2016, after 28.5 years in the Legislative Audit Division.
