TAKE A WALK ON THE WILD SIDE WITH OGM “SPOOKTACULAR” TOUR

You can meet or be tricked by some of the historic spirits of Helen’s past on this year’s Original Governor’s Mansion “Historic Spooktacular Walking Tour Friday and Saturday (Oct. 28 and Oct. 29).

The popular tours that attracted more than 2,000 people last year gather from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the back side of the Lewis and Clark County Courthouse with guided tours leaving every 10 minutes.

Costumed people recreating people and real stories from Helena’s past are at sites along the way. A new script for his year’s tour has been created by Montana Historical Society Interpretive Historian Ellen Baumler.

Tickets are available at the starting point $10 for adults, $5 for children age six to 12, and children under age 5 free.  Those who attend are encouraged to wear comfortable walking shoes and clothing for the weather. More information is available at www.mtogm.org.

The event is sponsored by the Original Governor’s Mansion Restoration Board and MHS with all proceeds going for restoration projects at the OGM.
