HISTORY OF NTIVE AMERICAN WOMEN SET FOR MHS MARCH LECTURE SEREIS

March is Women’s History Month, and the Friends of the Montana Historical Society are celebrating it with stories of women who had to also battle prejudice against Native Americans.

Laura Ferguson wrote 20 essays profiling Montana Indian women for the soon to be published MHS Press book “Beyond Schoolmarms and Madams: Montana Women’s Lives.”

On Wednesday (March 23) at noon at MHS Ferguson will present “Resilience: Women of the First Nations” as part of the MHS Friends brown-bag March Lecture Series. There is a $5 charge at the door with proceeds going to benefit projects at MHS.
