Governor Bullock warns Interior's intent to open greater Sage-Grouse conservation plans threatens years of progress

Thursday, October 5, 2017/Categories: Governor's Office/Tags:

Governor Steve Bullock today issued the following statement on the U.S. Department of Interior’s intent to open up greater Sage-Grouse management plans for review.

"The Department of Interior's approach to Sage-Grouse continues to fuel uncertainty. I'm worried they are heading down a path that not only undermines years of bipartisan collaboration between private landowners, conservation groups, industry and state and federal partners, but also invites new risks of an endangered species act listing. I join other governors in requesting that Secretary Zinke meet with us to meaningfully consult and chart a more thoughtful path forward."
