The National Governors Association (NGA) today formally seated Governor Steve Bullock as the new vice chairman of the association during its summer meeting.
“It’s our job as governors to deliver for the people of our states. We deal with real-life, on-the-ground impacts and together, our focus remains on fighting for hard-working families in each of our states,” said Governor Bullock. “I'm pleased my fellow governors from across the nation have placed their trust in me to help lead this organization. I’m confident that we will continue to work across party lines to deliver results that grow the economy, create more jobs, and protect the quality of life of families across the nation, now and for future generations. ”
Governor Bullock will serve alongside the chair, Republican Governor Brian Sandoval of Nevada, for the coming year. Governor Bullock will be seated as chair following Sandoval’s tenure.
During the 2017 NGA summer meeting, governors participated in discussions on international trade, the opioid epidemic, apprenticeship and work-based learning, cybersecurity, and innovation.
NGA is the bipartisan organization of the nation’s governors. Through NGA, governors identify priority issues and deal collectively with matters of public policy and governance at the state and national levels.
