DEQ Invites Comments on Water Quality Plan for Douglas Creek near Philipsburg
Helena – The Montana Department of Environmental Quality is accepting written comments on a water quality plan for Douglas Creek, located in Granite County, near Philipsburg.
The "Addendum to Flint Creek Planning Area Sediment and Metals TMDLs and Framework Water Quality Improvement Plan" describes water quality problems related to the metal antimony in Douglas Creek. The document provides a total maximum daily load (TMDL) for this waterbody to help address the antimony problem and outlines a strategy for improving water quality in order to meet Montana’s surface water quality standard.
