HELENA – The Montana Department of Environmental Quality is accepting public comment on a request from the Weyerhaeuser Company for release of bonds held for the reclamation of three rock quarry sites near Marion.

Weyerhaeuser is seeking bond release for Units 1 and 2 of the BN2530 site located in Lincoln County and the Skookum Yard site located in Flathead County. DEQ has inspected the sites and is proposing full bond releases totaling $26,500 for the completed reclamation.

DEQ may not release or decrease a bond until the public has been provided an opportunity for a hearing and a hearing has been held as requested. Requests for a hearing, comments on the proposed bond release or requests for additional information should be sent to the DEQ Hard Rock Mining Bureau, P. O. Box 200901, 1520 E.
