Comments Being Accepted on Proposed Bond Release for Weaver Gravel

Reclamation of Columbia Falls rock quarry is complete

HELENA – The Montana Department of Environmental Quality is accepting public comments on a request from Weaver Gravel, Inc. for full release of the bond held for reclamation at their rock quarry located near Columbia Falls in Flathead County, Mont.

Weaver is requesting full bond release for the 28.1 acres disturbed under the company’s permit, having conducted site demolition, placement of topsoil, and revegetation. DEQ has inspected the site and is proposing full bond release in the amount of $83,326.

Members of the public may submit comments to DEQ or request a hearing on the proposed bond release. Comments and requests for a hearing must be received by DEQ by Sept. 20, 2016.
